This is Metin2 as it was in 2014 — the original game, unchanged — running on a server somebody set up for themselves. No item shop, nothing to buy, and none of the grind that only exists to sell you something. You play at your own pace.
This is a hobby project. Nobody earns anything from it, there is nothing to buy, and there never will be.
You can play straight in your browser — one click, nothing to download and nothing to install. If you would rather have the proper client, download it instead: same server, same account, and a character made in one is there in the other.
Characters live in this server's own database and nowhere else — nobody has a second copy, and nothing is sent anywhere. Which also means how long this world lasts is entirely up to whoever runs it.
Everything needed to run this is open source. Anyone can set up exactly the same server on their own machine with a single command — no Metin2 knowledge required.
You play with a game account — the same one in the browser and in the download. Making one takes a moment.
